The Press
Production Associate
Operates equipment necessary for producing production parts while meeting all safety and quality standards.
The Press Operator (Level 1) is responsible for ensuring that the
Customer, People, and Investor goals are balanced and met
.
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Load and unload individual automotive stampings from production lines/cells.
- Inspect and properly load parts into containers for storage and shipment.
- Tag, label, and track piece parts and assemblies and produce required documentation.
- Utilize Quality concepts to inspect, line changes, grade and document part condition.
- Practice and promote Continuous Improvement of manufacturing processes and identifies possible cost reduction opportunities.
- Assist the Team Leader with the training of new employees.
- Must assist in equipment change outs and adjustments in all production areas.
- Follows work instructions to insure TS16949 standards are being met.
- Follow all plant safety rules and regulations.
- Responsible for the quality of the product ran in their assigned area while racking, sorting, repacking, or verifying.
- Responsible for any personal transaction made through SAP to include: correct labeling, reconciling, scanning, and transferring.

- Follow and comply with all operational procedures and policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, quality and environment programs.
- Understand and promote Magna’s philosophies and Employee’s Charter
- Perform other duties as required.
Position Requirements:
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED )
- Manufacturing Environment Experience Preferred (Min. 6 months)
- Previous Press shop experience, knowledge of how to run a Press line.
- Must be able to work in different areas in the Press Shop as required
- Lead by example, be trustworthy and dependable.
- Must be able to complete everyday tasks with minimal supervision.
Communication Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization .
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract , multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to work with metrics.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
- Manufacturing Environment: 100 % Standing, Walking, and Lifting
- Physically fit and able to lift 50-60 pounds
- Must be able to stand 8+ hours a day
- Automated equipment and mechanical robotics,
- W orks near moving mechanical parts , fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, and loud noises
