Workbox Staffing is looking for an experienced and motivated candidate for an
Installer/ Fabricator
role in Allendale. As an
Installer/ Fabricator
, you will oversee and guide the installation of industrial sheet metal products in various environments. This role requires both leadership and technical skills, as you will be working hands-on to ensure projects are completed to specification and within deadlines, while also mentoring and managing a team of installers. If you enjoy hands-on work and have a passion for sheet metal installation, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate sheet metal components using hand tools, power tools, and metalworking machinery
- Cut, bend, punch, drill, shape, and straighten sheet metal to meet specifications
- Assemble, install, and secure sheet metal products in commercial and industrial settings
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to ensure accuracy in fabrication and installation
- Perform welding, riveting, and soldering as required for sheet metal joints and parts
- Ensure that all fabricated parts meet quality and safety standards
- Install and secure sheet metal products according to specifications, ensuring a precise fit
- Travel to job sites for installations, with potential for 50-75% travel time
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring proper care and functionality
- Work closely with project managers and team members to meet deadlines and client specifications
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues during fabrication or installation
- Assist with the training and mentoring of new team members
Key Qualifications
- 2+ years of previous experience in sheet metal installation or related work
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work specifications
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Willingness to travel for the duration of the job (50-75% travel required)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Experience with welding and fabricating sheet metal
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience with HVAC systems
- Experience with metal fabrication machinery
- Strong use of mathematics
