1st 4:45 am to 3:00 pm Monday- Thursday with possible overtime on Friday
Job Summary:
As a Forklift Operator at Bissell, you will play a critical role in our warehouse operations, responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move materials and products throughout our facility. This includes utilization in shipping, receiving, production, and general material handling tasks.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a forklift to move materials and products throughout the facility
- Load and unload materials and products from trucks, trailers, and containers
- Transport materials and products to and from production areas, warehouses, and shipping docks
- Stack and store materials and products in a safe and efficient manner
- Perform routine maintenance checks on the forklift to ensure it is in good working condition
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to achieve efficient and safe warehouse operations
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and productivity
- Assisting with general labor tasks as needed
Key Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- 1-2 years of experience operating a forklift/ hilo
- Must be able to utilize onboard computer systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Requires fluent use of English (reading, writing, and speaking)
Preferred Skills
- Previous Quality Control experience
- Basic math skills
