Job Title: Fitter
Pay Rate: $25-$30/hour
Shift: Monday to Thursday 6am - 4:30pm | Friday 6am - 2:00pm
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our team on a temporary basis. In this role, you will be responsible for fitting and assembling metal parts and structures, ensuring they meet precise specifications. Your expertise in reading blueprints and using various tools will contribute to the quality and efficiency of our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Assemble and fit metal parts and structures such as tanks, platforms, and stairs using hand tools and machinery.
- Collaborate with team members on various projects, offering support and expertise in fitting up work.
- Perform MIG welding as needed to join or repair metal components.
- Operate fabricating equipment including torches, plasma cutters, band saws, and drill/tap machines.
- Maintain a high level of precision in all tasks, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings and quality standards.
- Participate in safety protocols and ensure the correct use of steel-toe boots and safety glasses.
- Willing to work overtime as production demands require.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fabrication, fitting, welding, or a related field.
- Proven ability to fabricate and fit items according to detailed specifications.
- Familiarity with welding tools, procedures, and safety measures.
- Strong understanding of engineering blueprints and technical schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle physical workload in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a manufacturing setting.
- Capable of lifting and moving items weighing up to 30 lbs.
- Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills necessary for precise fittings.
