Location: Grand Rapids
Pay: $17/hr
Shift: 1st Shift
Job Summary
Come work for a leading producer of high-quality iron castings! We're seeking a skilled Chipper/Grinder to join our team.
Responsibilities for the Chipper/Grinder
- Inspect workpieces and use grinding or chipping techniques to remove defects
- Set up grinding and chipping equipment (power hammers/grinders)
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Read and interpret work instructions from standard procedures, job orders, and supervisors
- Use hand-operated cranes to move heavy items
Key Qualifications for Chipper/Grinder
- Ability to inspect workpieces and use grinding or chipping techniques to remove defects
Preferred Skills for Chipper/Grinder
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects and tools, reach with arms and hands, stop, kneel, and crouch
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 100lbs
- Ability to speak, read, and understand English
- Ability to wear a respirator mask and work in hot conditions
