Job Summary:
As an Experienced Plastic Technician (Level 2) at Bissell, you will play a critical role in the plastics department, responsible for setting up and operating plastic injection molding machines, as well as performing maintenance and repair tasks to ensure optimal machine performance.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate plastic injection molding machines, including loading and unloading molds, setting machine parameters, and monitoring production
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubricating machines, replacing worn parts, and performing preventive maintenance tasks
- Troubleshoot machine issues, identifying and resolving problems to minimize downtime
- Collaborate with other technicians and production staff to achieve efficient and safe production operations
- Implement and maintain safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and safety
- Train and mentor junior technicians as needed
- Maintain accurate records of machine maintenance, repairs, and production data
Key Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Must have strong mechanical aptitude
- Understands blueprints and technical drawings
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Requires fluent use of English (reading, writing, and speaking)
Preferred Skills
- 1-2 years of experience in Plastic injection molding
- Previous Die Setting experience
- Previous Quality Control experience
- Basic math skills
