Intro: Welcome back to Monday Coffee Blogs. This week we found ourselves at Ferris Coffee’s downtown Grand Rapids location, and it did not disappoint. We’ve got a summer heat wave headed our way so for our second cup of joe we’re sipping on a refreshing iced vanilla latte. Apply For Jobs at Workbox Staffing

Coffee Shop: Ferris Coffee

Drink: Iced Vanilla Latte

Our Review: Ferris Coffee and Nut has been crafting high-quality coffee since 1924. This family own and oriented business remains true to its roots: “passionately seek out and provide the finest products from around the world, while giving back to the communities we serve.” Here at Workbox Staffing, we related to the humble beginnings and emphasis on working hard to build yourself up, so of course, we had to stop by for a brew to start out our week! With summer in full swing, iced coffee is the perfect beverage to get you caffeinated without stifling you with more heat. Our vanilla iced latte was the perfect blend of sweet and strong. We enjoyed the lightness of the vanilla but still knew this bad boy would get the job done with the power of espresso behind it. Iced coffee is an excellent alternative if you’re unsure of what a nitro cold brew is. Cool and refreshing but with all the perks of a hot cup of coffee. We are convinced ice coffee has magical powers to make any situation better, and our iced vanilla latte from Ferris definitely proved our hypothesis. There’s no hiding that this brew will make you basic, but frankly, we don’t care, the magical powers of ice coffee are just too powerful. In fact, when we took a very scientific look at the breakdown of things with magical powers it ranks third behind Harry Potter and unicorns.

Job Numbers: This week, we are looking at the number of jobs added in each of the states we serve.

Looking at these trends, we can see that each state increased the number of jobs added: except for South Carolina. Overall job growth can be credited to the continued strength of the economy. However, it should be noted that while employment has grown, wage rates have not increased with them (a topic we will cover in next week’s blog). As job numbers grow, employers must compete harder to attract and hire quality candidates for their roles. Companies need to stand out from their competitors when it comes to recruiting top talent now more than ever as we are in a job seeker’s market.
